San Benito, TX - Amalia A. Gonzales, 88, passed away Wednesday, December 10, 2008 at Good Samaritan Center in Harlingen, TX. She is preceded in death by her siblings, Alfredo Salazar, Ignacio Aguilar, Ventura Puentes, Teresa Montez, Francisca Sierra, Emilia Banuelos and Casimira Leal. Ms. Gonzales is survived by her loving husband of 72 years, Refugio Gonzales; her children, Vicente (Connie) Moreno, Jr., Micaela (Vicente) Moreno and Teresa (Fidel) Guerra all of San Benito; Elida (Francisco) Garcia of Houston; her grandchildren, Fidel (Diana) Guerra, Joe (Nora) Guerra, Rolando (Inez) Guerra, Maribel Guerra, Hector (Nelly) Moreno, Sonia (Crecensio) Gonzales, Angel (Martha) Sanchez, Joel (Margarita) Sanchez, Angela (Christopher) Tawater and Mayra A. Moreno;brother Ramon Aguilar, sister, Juana Gomez and numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Friday, December 12, 2008 from 12 Noon to 9:00 P.M. with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 P.M. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2008 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Theresa Catholic Church. Interment will follow to Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito.
