Laguna Heights, TX- Emma Gloria Perez, 70, of Laguna Heights, TX passed away November 23, 2009 at her residence. She was a life resident of Laguna Heights and a member of Templo Maranatha Church of Port Isabel; she also worked for many years at Esperanza B. Garza Head Start of Port Isabel. She is preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Perez, Sr.; father, Conrado Martinez; mother, Josefina Camacho Medrano; her 3 sons, Rosalio Perez, Aaron Perez and Santos Perez; a daughter, Maria Perez; 3 brothers, Eliseo Medrano, Moises Medrano and Samuel Medrano; and a sister, Graciela Holstein. Emma is survived by her loving children, Felipe (Suzanna) Perez, Daniel Perez, Jr. and Gloria Jean Southwell all of Port Isabel; Patricia Martinez of Louisiana; Yesenia (Joe) Henderson of Arroyo City; Elvira Perez of Florida; Juan Jose (Lisa) Perez of Harlingen; and Marcelino Bonilla of Bayview; along with several grandchildren and several great grandchildren. 2 brothers, Erasmo Martinez and Adan Medrano; 4 sisters, Maria Elizabeth (Candelario) Martinez, Eva Torres, Ester Alaniz, and Marta Belmontes; Visitation will be held on Friday November 27, 2009 from 12:00 noon to 9:00 P.M. with a Prayer Service to be held at 7:00 P.M. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday November 28, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. at Templo Maranatha Church located at 401 E. Madison St. in Port Isabel with Pastor Ignacio Manzano officiating. Interment will follow to Port Isabel City Cemetery.
